The story concept

The third and final year of university is upon me and so we are given the chance to take part in the production of others projects or develop our own ideas and try and create a team that can bring our ideas to screen.

Nervous though I am I feel I'd like to have a go at making my own short film, focusing on the quality of the animation more than anything else.

Without further adieu here is my rough story idea:

General Notes:

- An animation about a questing caravan and their much abused pack pony.

-An illustrative/comedic (hopefully) short

-No dialogue

-Maybe use of some incredibly detailed stills (think Spongebob Squarepants, Adventure time, Ren and stimpy, though not as gross as the latter)

-2D project Photoshop and Flash

-Solo 

Plot synopsis

-Our questing heroes are travelling through lands

-Entering a glade or a forest the Bard takes the time to inspect the loot and treasures the team have accumulated while on thier journey.

- He then proceeds to shove an item down his shirt after taking a fancy to it.

-Caravan grinds to a halt.

-Ambush! D:

-A dark and looming figure manifests from the forests shadowy floor and glides towards our heroes.

-The villain then points his finger at our heroes and hovers over each of them accusingly.

-The Bard then drops his coins all over the floor as the finger reaches him ;)

-Villains finger snaps to the pony.

-The characters watch in disbelief as the villain carries off the pony.

-The pony sees an intriguing patch on the "villains" back.

-Pony Protection League

-Characters are dumbfounded.

-( at this point I want the audience to be as confused as the characters themselves)

-Credits Roll and are peppered with stills of all the abuse the poor pack pony has had to put up with.

-If possible to have an end still of the knight character having to pull the extremely heavy cart.
